Deputy Minister for Labour provides Insights and guidance for Vocational Improvement at SRIVI
On June 24, 2024, a delegation of nine dignitaries led by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labor visited Shin Rai International Vocational Institute's Bahan Campus in Yangon. The institute's responsible persons warmly welcomed the delegation and presented an overview of the institute's vision and mission, highlighting its current and future technical and vocational training programs, along with the challenges and opportunities faced. The Deputy Minister provided encouraging words and invaluable advice for the institute's activities and training programs, emphasizing the importance of their mission. During the visit, the Deputy Minister and the delegation toured the campus, including classrooms, skills labs, the sports hall, library, and training workshops. The team offered words of encouragement to the students in the classrooms and practical rooms, boosting morale, professional due care and underscoring the significance of their educational endeavors.
Signing MOA between Myanmar Citizen Bank (MCB) and Shin Rai International Vocational Institute (SRIVI)
On 21.6.2024 (Friday), the CEO of MCB, Mr. BHESH RAJ KHATIWADA and SRIVI's Managing Director Ms. Khaing Phoo Wai signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to improve the finance and vocational education sector, aiming to support the improvement of vocational education opportunities and standards for young adults in Myanmar. The MOA was signed for joint implementation of financial services, student loan services, investment opportunities, producing skilled workers needed for financial activities and other financial services, SRIVI's technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs development and quality improvement for workforce readiness.
SRIVI Rainy Seasons Cup 2024 Final Competitions and Awarding Ceremony Convened
The SRIVI Rainy Seasons Cup 2024 Men's Sepak Takraw and Women's Badminton Finals were held on May 31, 2024 (Friday). In the tournaments, the F&B Services team won the men's sepak takraw championship. In women's badminton, the HCA team claimed the championship title. Following the competitions, the SRIVI Rainy Seasons Cup 2024 awarding ceremony took place. Daw Khaing Phoo Wai, the Managing Director of SRIVI, expressed gratitude to all players for their participation and concluded the ceremony successfully.
SRIVI Rainy Season Cup Convened
The SRIVI Rainy Season Cup tournament took place on May 28, 2024 (Tuesday), at SRIVI's multi-purpose sports hall. The event was inaugurated with an opening remark by SRIVI's Managing Director, Daw Khaing Phoo Wai, followed by a detailed explanation of the tournament rules by the referees. Aligned with today's global education trends, it is essential for students to balance their academic pursuits with a healthy and active lifestyle. The SRIVI Rainy Season Cup aims to promote this balance, encouraging students to engage in their favorite sports and learn the value of teamwork and cooperation. The tournament features Sepak Takraw (male) and badminton (female), both conducted in a knockout format. The finals are scheduled to be held on May 31, 2024 (Friday). Physical Inspection of Regional Private School Supervisory Board
Shin Rai International Vocational Institute (SRIVI) was visited by the Regional Private School Supervisory Board on March 25, 2024 regarding the school registration process for the establishment and opening of the institute. Inspection focused on the fulfillment of the characteristics of the institute such as infrastructure, curriculum, and required workforce of teachers and the Board provided invaluable guidance and advice for the continuous development of the institute.

Shin Rai Continues to Open Doors to Finnish Language Learning: Students Dive into New Language & Culture
4 Dec 2023 marked the last on campus Finnish language for the year before SRIVI welcomes Year 2024 with more on campus and online Finnish language classes. The classroom was buzzing with infectious enthusiasm as students immerse themselves in the world of Finnish through active listening and participation. Students’ active participation in class activities and unwavering dedication to mastering the language's intricacies paint a created a vibrant and dynamic learning space. The Finnish Language Class at SRIVI campus is fostering not only linguistic skills but also a sense of Finland community and cultural appreciation. Students' eagerness to embrace the uniqueness of the language reflects their commitment to expanding their horizons and gaining a deeper understanding of the language and the people who speak it. Stay tuned for more updates as SRIVI Finnish Language Class continues to inspire and cultivate a love for language learning among its students. More Finnish language classes, on campus and online, will be made available for you to learn the language at your convenience with our local and native speaker teachers.
The European Day of Languages
On September 26, 2023, Shin Rai International Vocational Institute (SRIVI) actively participated in the event of the European Day of Languages amicably hosted by the Goethe Institut of Myanmar. SRIVI played a pivotal role in enlightening visiting students about education in Finland, providing them with comprehensive information and insights. During the event, SRIVI conducted several Finnish language trial lessons to a jam-packed classroom of interested students. Engaging lessons had captured the eager learners’ full attention and aroused them to actively participate in right pronunciation and short basic conversation. SRIVI Finnish Language classes are conducted on campus and online by local and native speaker teachers. As such, all our students are given the liberty to choose their preferred way of learning at their convenience.
The 4th International Education Fair Myanmar 2023
SRIVI has participated in the 2-day (25 & 26 Dec) 4th International Education Fair 2023 at the Sule Shangari-la Hotel. Ms. Hkaw Win, a member of the SRIVI Board of Directors, was invited as one of the official parties to conduct the opening ceremony of the education fair. The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Khaing Phoo Wai, SRIVI Managing Director, and Mr. Sherman Kwok, SRIVI Vice Principal as guests. Their presence marked SRIVI's active participation and engagement in the event. SRIVI booth has attracted a constant stream of students and parents to enquire more about SRIVI’s vocational programs and the unique Bridge to Bachelor’s Degree in Finland. Working as a cohesive team, our academic and non-academic staff were always ready to provide comprehensive information to the students and directly address all their queries and concerns. We have started to leave footprint of offering uncompromising vocational training in Myanmar and providing skilled workers to Myanmar and beyond.
A SUCCESS! A STEP CLOSER TO STUDY IN FINLAND
The Innovation Camp, a 2-day project-based learning, of the SRIVI Bridge to Bachelor’s Degree (BBD) Program was convened at the Bahan Campus of Shin Rai International Vocational Institute (SRIVI) on 10-11 December 2022. The program was graced by Mr. Kyosti Timonen, Principal of SRIVI, and was conducted and facilitated by Ms. Katja Vayrynen, teacher of Soprano, Finland and Mr. Shwe Maung Thein, Head of BBD. This is a practical session for all students to put what they have learned into practice. They were required to demonstrate their innovative and entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and competence in relation to the business world. Marketing was the focus for the 1 st batch of SRIVI BBD program. To make learning more realistic, SRIVI marketing team was roped in to briefly share on the current marketing situation. Students were then tasked to present a marketing proposal, under tight deadlines, with the given objective. Under the guidance of Ms. Katja, students were divided into groups, and they sprang into action! The Activity Room was instantly filled with strategies, exchanges of ideas, prototype of marketing ideas with scenarios and explorations the possible marketing channels. Feedback and comments on students’ first prototypes and proposals were given to prepare them for their final presentation the next day. Students’ parents, teachers and staff of SRIVI were invited to witness students’ final presentation. “Great improvement!”, “Our students have learnt.” are the general comments from the audience. As the finale, SRIVI organized a “Candid Shot Contest”, a photo taking contest on funny actions of their classmates and teachers. All students received prizes based on the number of votes casted by SRIVI staff. Everyone was also treated with Finland snacks and Myanmar food. Now, SRIVI students are a step closer to continue their education in Finland. SRIVI BBD is a one-year program with the fastest track for students who want to study in Europe. It is a cooperation between Shin Rai International Institute (Myanmar), Soprano, Finland and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, SAMK (Finland). New Career and New Success Event
On April 2, 2023, SRIVI participated in an inspiring event titled "Career and New Success" at the Southern Shan State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SSSCCI) Hall in Taunggyi,Shan State.This event aimed to guide attendees towards the right career paths and achieving lifelong success. The event brought together around 200 students and parents, along with the responsible persons of SSSCCI, the representatives from various language schools, universities, institutes, and job agencies. It was a pivotal opportunity for young minds to explore different career options and gain valuable insights into the professional world. Our distinguished keynote speakers included Lynn Thaik Nyunt (Myanmar Land), Zin Phyo Paing from MESI University College, and Shwe Maung Thein, the BBD Program Head at SRIVI. These industry leaders shared their expertise, experiences, and practical advice on navigating career choices and achieving success. The event provided a comprehensive platform for students and parents to connect with educators,industry experts, and peers, all committed to helping attendees achieve their career aspirations.The speakers’ insights and experiences offered invaluable guidance, making the event a significant step towards shaping the futures of the young participants. The "New Career and New Success" event was a day of enlightenment and empowerment,reinforcing SRIVI’s commitment to fostering career development and success. It highlighted the importance of making informed career choices and equipped attendees with the knowledge and inspiration to pursue their professional goals.
SRIVI BBD Programme – Going beyond Yangon!
Seminars on the SRIVI Bridge to Bachelor’s Degree Programme (SRIVI BBD) were successfully held beyond Yangon. SRIVI is bringing international education to the doorsteps of the students at Aungban and Taunggyi on 27 January 2023. The first stop was at Myat Myint Mo Private High School in Aungban. Over 120 students attended the seminar. Ms Ei Chan Myei Khaing and Mr Soe Htike Aung from the marketing team presented SRIVI and Finland respectively.Mr Shwe Maung Thein, Head of SRIVI BBD program shared on the SRIVI BBD programme that provide the opportunity for the students to further their education and learning in Europe universities, especially Finland which is known for her top-notch education system and being the happiest country on earth. Another seminar sharing session was held at the Southern Shan State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SSSCCI) in Taunggyi on the same day. More than 60 people,including founders of the Taunggyi Youth Career Institute, parents, and students,attended the seminar. Questions were answered and doubts were cleared during the lively Q&A segment for both sessions. "We like to introduce and share with more Myanmar youths this amazing program. It opens up the opportunity for them to pursue and get an internationally recognized degree,"said Ms Khaing Phoo Wai, Managing Director, SRIVI. Ms Khaing further mentioned that it could be a lifetime experience for students to get educated in Finland,a country known for excellent education system and for being the happiest county in the world. What do you need to know about SRIVI BBD Program? SRIVI BBD is a one-year programme with a fast-track to universities in Europe. SRIVI BBD is designed to with three modules: (1) Business Performance and University kick-off (2) Business Development (3) Product & Service Design and Competence Demonstration Students will achieve two diplomas and a certificate: (1) Further Vocational Qualification (FVQ) in Entrepreneurship from Management Institute of Finland, MIF. (Recognized Ministry of Education & Culture, Finland) (2) Diploma in Business development and Entrepreneurship (DBDE) (3) Pathway Diploma After accomplishing the SRIVI BBD, students gain direct entry to Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) or can apply for other universities in Europe. SRIVI BBD is a collaboration between Shin Rai International Vocational Institute (SRIVI) and Management Institute of Finland (MIF). And there is ONLY ONE INTAKE PER YEAR.
