SRIVI played a pivotal role in enlightening visiting students about education in Finland, providing them with comprehensive information and insights. During the event, SRIVI conducted several Finnish language trial lessons to a jam-packed classroom of interested students. Ms. Hkaw Win, a member of the SRIVI Board of Directors, was invited as one of the official parties to conduct the opening ceremony of the education fair. The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Khaing Phoo Wai, SRIVI Managing Director, and Mr. Sherman Kwok, SRIVI Vice Principal as guests. A STEP CLOSER TO STUDY IN FINLAND The Innovation Camp, a 2-day project-based learning, of the SRIVI Bridge to Bachelor’s Degree (BBD) Program was convened at the Bahan Campus of Shin Rai International Vocational Institute (SRIVI) on 10-11 December 2022. The program was graced by Mr. Kyosti Timonen, Principal of SRIVI, and was conducted and facilitated by Ms. Katja Vayrynen, teacher of Soprano, Finland and Mr. Shwe Maung Thein, Head of BBD. This is a practical session for all students to put what they have learned into practice. They were required to demonstrate their innovative and entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and competence in relation to the business world. Marketing was the focus for the 1 st batch of SRIVI BBD program. To make learning more realistic, SRIVI marketing team was roped in to briefly share on the current marketing situation. Students were then tasked to present a marketing proposal, under tight deadlines, with the given objective. Under the guidance of Ms. Katja, students were divided into groups, and they sprang into action! The Activity Room was instantly filled with strategies, exchanges of ideas, prototype of marketing ideas with scenarios and explorations the possible marketing channels. Feedback and comments on students’ first prototypes and proposals were given to prepare them for their final presentation the next day. Students’ parents, teachers and staff of SRIVI were invited to witness students’ final presentation. “Great improvement!”, “Our students have learnt.” are the general comments from the audience. As the finale, SRIVI organized a “Candid Shot Contest”, a photo taking contest on funny actions of their classmates and teachers. All students received prizes based on the number of votes casted by SRIVI staff. Everyone was also treated with Finland snacks and Myanmar food. Now, SRIVI students are a step closer to continue their education in Finland. SRIVI BBD is a one-year program with the fastest track for students who want to study in Europe. The event brought together around 200 students and parents, along with the responsible persons of SSSCCI, the representatives from various language schools, universities, institutes, and job agencies. It was a pivotal opportunity for young minds to explore different career options and gain valuable insights into the professional world. Our distinguished keynote speakers included Lynn Thaik Nyunt (Myanmar Land), Zin Phyo Paing from MESI University College, and Shwe Maung Thein, the BBD Program Head at SRIVI. SRIVI is bringing international education to the doorsteps of the students at Aungban and Taunggyi on 27 January 2023. The first stop was at Myat Myint Mo Private High School in Aungban. Over 120 students attended the seminar. Ms Ei Chan Myei Khaing and Mr Soe Htike Aung from the marketing team presented SRIVI and Finland respectively.Mr Shwe Maung Thein, Head of SRIVI BBD program shared on the SRIVI BBD programme that provide the opportunity for the students to further their education and learning in Europe universities, especially Finland which is known for her top-notch education system and being the happiest country on earth. Another seminar sharing session was held at the Southern Shan State Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SSSCCI) in Taunggyi on the same day. More than 60 people,including founders of the Taunggyi Youth Career Institute, parents, and students,attended the seminar.
